TAKE BACK YOUR TRUST

Learn to build your faith in GOD to overcome trust issues.

GOD is not a man that HE should lie. Neither is HE the son of man that HE should repent. GOD is trustworthy. HIS words will never return back void unto HIM. HE will never leave you nor forsake you. HIS plans are to prosper you and to give you an expected end. You can trust GOD because HE does not lie. In this article, you will learn to overcome the pain caused by trauma and build your trust in GOD.

“And JESUS answering saith unto them, Have faith in GOD.”
Mark 11:22 ‭KJV‬

Trust issues with GOD

Your heart knows there is a loving GOD who does not wish you harm. This is why when bad things happen, the first thing you do is question whether GOD is real or if HE is with you. However, the trust issues you have with GOD have nothing to do with HIM. You will experience hurt and pain because we live in a fallen world. The heart of man is deceitfully wicked and the enemy uses people to try to attack your faith in GOD. The devil doesn’t care about hurting you or who hurts you. The ultimate plan of attack against your life is to get you to turn your heart away from GOD. As you build your faith in GOD, the more the enemy will try to use people to hurt you. If the enemy can use pain to get you to not believe in GOD or HIS plans for your life; he can also keep you trapped repeating dysfunctional cycles.

Oftentimes, you hold GOD accountable for the actions of the people used by the enemy to hurt you. Deep down you are aware that the character of GOD is not to harm you. HE is a good Father. This is the reason why you are unable to fathom why you have to endure any suffering. However, the in this world we will endure afflictions. But you can be of good cheer because JESUS CHRIST overcame every hurt and pain you would experience on the cross. Place your trust in GOD. With the understanding that HIS plans are to prosper you and not harm you. Release the hurt and pain through prayer and fasting. This will build your faith in GOD because you will begin to hear HIS plans for you with clarity.  As a result, you will be empowered to overcome your trust issues.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19‬ ‭KJV‬

How to Build Your Faith

GOD desires for you to cast all your cares upon HIM for HE cares for you. HE is a jealous GOD and will have no other gods before HIM. Therefore, you cannot focus so much on hurt and pain that it becomes an idol in your life. Don’t spend your days rehearsing thoughts or memories of trauma. Eliminate the need to figure out how you could have done things differently, why it happened to you, seeking revenge, or dwelling on the regret of bad decisions. Surrender it all to GOD by casting your cares upon HIM in prayer and worship.

Prayer is your intimate conversation with GOD. HE wants you to talk to HIM about how you truly feel. Yes, HE already knows how you feel. But HE desires a relationship with you. Feelings and emotions can block your view of who GOD is because your flesh causes you to think of HIM like a man. You think GOD already knew this would happen, so why did this happen to me? How could HE allow people to hurt me? But GOD does not desire for you to be in pain. Some things happen as a consequence of your own sins or the sins of others. Prayer is essential because GOD will reveal to you the source of the trauma for you to pray against. A daily prayer life will build your trust in GOD. HE will reveal more and more of HIS heart to you as you spend quality time with HIM.

WAYS TO REBUILD YOUR TRUST

1. COMMUNICATE YOUR NEEDS

Tell GOD exactly how you feel. Express to HIM all your cares and concerns. No one else deserves the intimacy of your vulnerabilities except GOD. Avoid venting to others or on social media as it is not an effective way to heal.

2. MEDITATION

GOD watches over HIS word to perform it. It is imperative to read, speak and meditate on the scriptures of the Bible daily to understand the heart of GOD. HE is trustworthy. You can meditate throughout your day. Write down at least 3 scriptures of trust on sticky notes and place them around your office or home to read through out the day.

3. ESTABLISH BOUNDARIES

Rebuilding trust requires for you to be in a safe environment. Clearly determine your wants and needs to feel safe. Follow through by honoring and respecting your own needs and the needs of others.

4. FORGIVE

Release all the past hurt, pain, abuse, or offense caused by others. GOD alone will repay you, for the pain caused by others. Forgiveness releases you to receive the abundance GOD has in store for your life.

5. BE PATIENT

Healing from trust issues caused by people is a process. As you increase your prayer life, your trust in GOD will also increase. You will begin to feel different immediately. However, to overcome all your trust issues, you will need to spend time with GOD consistently.

Scriptures for Trust

“For with GOD nothing shall be impossible.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:37‬ ‭KJV‬

The healing process to overcome trust issues is possible with GOD. There is power in speaking and meditating on the scriptures of the Bible daily. Read, speak, and meditate on the scriptures for trust.

You can Trust in GOD

GOD is aware of the pain you have experienced. HE cares about how you feel. However, you cannot allow your feelings and emotions to keep you from progressing in life. It is essential for you to heal your feelings and view yourself in the eyes of GOD. You are the apple of HIS eye. HE stores up your tears and knows the exact number of hairs on your head. HE designed your life intricately and will allow everything that has ever happened to you to work for your good and HIS glory. You can trust GOD because HE is trustworthy. Learn the character of GOD and how trustworthy HE is by studying, reading, and speaking the scriptures of the Bible. Your trust will be rebuilt and you will walk in the boldness, confidence, courage, and strength of who GOD created you to be.
