What is a Gift?
The gifts you give during the holidays, do not only have to be monetary. You can use your unique talents and skills to give back and make a difference within your community during the holidays. This will allow for you to think outside the box to find creative ways to give to others. Then you will be able to present a truly unique experience for each person at your celebrations. A gift can be defined in multiple ways. The Oxford dictionary defines a gift as a thing that is given without the expectation of payment. Also referred to as a present.
“Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.”
Philippians 4:17 KJV
A gift can also be defined as a person’s natural talent or ability. Each individual has their own unique capabilities that they are able to bring into any environment. You are born with a natural ability to do something. In which others say you are gifted to do a particular task. This may include, but is not limited to art, sports, cooking, leadership, business, and more. Some people are born with multiple gifts. The holidays are the perfect time of the year to share your gifts with others.

Your Gifts Make You Unique
You are one of a kind and unique. There is only one of you who will ever exist. Therefore, the gifts and talents you were born with are beneficial to others. Oftentimes, you may think you have nothing special to offer. However, that negative thought could be no further from the truth. Despite, how you may feel about your talents, you are unique. Due to having access to your special abilities on a regular basis, you consider it normal. This is due to a limited view of yourself or you may be surrounded around individuals you possess the same gifts. Taking all things into consideration, you still have a unique touch in which only you can provide. Pray and ask Holy Spirit to reveal to you the true gravity of your gifts. Once you gain clarity through prayer, you will be able to confidently offer your gifts to others during the holidays.
Scriptures for Gifts
“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of GOD.” 1 Peter 4:10 KJV
There is power in speaking and meditating on the scriptures of the Bible daily. Read, speak, and meditate on the scriptures for gifts.
Remember the reason for the holidays. We are bombarded with sales, commercials, and songs that try to entice us to consume more and more during the holidays. The holiday focus in society is primarily increased consumerism and attaining more things to feel joy. However, consuming more through retail therapy provides a false sense of joy. This joy is not sustainable because it is only based upon what you give and receive. Therefore, during the holidays, be sure you keep in mind your core values and beliefs behind your celebrations. In doing so you will truly have the best Christmas ever!
