Learn ways to brighten your day to overcome the fatigue of healing through gratitude.
Life has many beautiful things to be grateful for, so why would you waste your days dwelling on negativity? You may be fatigued in the healing process from trauma, because creating new belief systems, thought patterns, and healthy coping skills can be exhausting. The exhaustion is due to life circumstances resisting your change. However, you can overcome this exhaustion by embracing your healing process and looking for the brighter side things in life. In this article, we will discuss how to overcome the fatigue of healing through gratitude.
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31 KJV
How to Being Grateful Heals You
Gratitude is one of the most powerful human emotions. It has significant impacts on your mental and physical health. Studies show being a grateful person can literally change your brain. When you show gratitude your brain releases dopamine and serotonin hormones. These neurotransmitter hormones are responsible for our feel good emotions and when released they regulate the stress hormone. In addition, the brain releases toxic emotions from the brain. As a result, you will experience improved sleep, reduced pain, and an overall enhanced positive mood. These improvements will also enable you to overcome the fatigue of healing, because your brain will become rewired.
“Glory and honour are in HIS presence; strength and gladness are in
HIS place."
1 Chronicles 16:27 KJV

Positive Thinking with Scriptures of the Bible
Your thoughts and words are powerful. Thoughts turn into words, and words to turn into your actions. When healing from trauma, it is imperative to create new belief systems and thought patterns. You may not realize you are repeating dysfunctional cycles due to the way you think and speak. Oftentimes, negative thinking is reinforced when you remain in unhealed environments. You cannot keep speaking or thinking the same way and expect different results. It is imperative for you to learn a new and positive thought pattern. Proverbs 18:21, states, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” This means whatever you speak is actively creating your life. Gratitude partnered with positive thinking cultivates cognitive restructuring and will change your world view. Your brain will be rewired to think positively and focus on gratitude. Practicing daily affirmations with scriptures of the Holy Bible is a powerful combination for cognitive restructuring. You will begin to think more positively. In addition, you will become more grateful as you speak the scriptures of the Bible.

Steps to Become a Grateful Person
Showing gratitude is a lifestyle. Your life will begin to change for the better when you cultivate an attitude toward life where you focus on positive thinking, reading the scriptures of the Bible, being glad, and show gratitude. The steps to become a grateful person require you to embrace gladness and joy. First, let go of the negativity. You cannot be a negative and grateful person at the same time. Next, look for the brighter side of life. Don’t allow the pain from the past to hinder your ability to see the brighter side of things. Then, always find a reason to smile and be happy. Go out of your way to find the positive in each day. Also, thank GOD for all things. GOD inhabits the praise of HIS people. HIS presence will fill your heart with peace which surpasses all understanding when you thank HIM in all circumstances. Next, cultivate a daily prayer life. GOD wants to hear from you on a daily basis, not just when you are feeling fatigued or exhausted. Come to GOD as a Father and friend when you speak to HIM in prayer. You will begin to develop a praying lifestyle. Which in turn will result in you becoming a grateful person and changing your entire life to one of gratitude. Once being grateful becomes a lifestyle, you will not have room to focus on anything other than ways to show your gratitude in GOD toward others.
