TAKE BACK YOUR MIND

Overcome the thoughts of low self-esteem by building your confidence in GOD.

Do you ever catch yourself questioning who you are? Lack the confidence to pursue your dreams or stand in your purpose? Wonder if you are worthy or if you are enough to have good things? You may have low self-esteem. This article will discuss how to build your confidence in GOD.

“Being confident of this very thing, that HE which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of JESUS CHRIST:” Philippians 1:6 KJV

Your thoughts can become convoluted and confused when you have low self-esteem. As a result, you become stuck in a constant state of brain fog. Brain fog is a lack of focus, confusion, forgetfulness, and overall insufficient mental clarity. This is a primary symptom of self-imposter syndrome. The onset of this mental discrepancy can be triggered by stress, overworking, over-analyzing, and insufficient self-care regimen.  This condition can be exaggerated when you are surrounded by manipulative professional or personal environments. You may also experience, intense and intrusive thoughts of self-doubt. However, you have the power to take back your mind and reprogram the thoughts about yourself.

Stop Comparing Yourself

You are responsible for the progress you make in life. Regardless of the trauma you may have suffered. The ability to build your confidence and reprogram your thoughts about yourself starts with introspection. This is the ability to examine your own mental and emotional processes.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:14 KJV

When you are focused on your mental and emotional healing you will not have time to compare yourself to others. You will become so preoccupied with your own personal development and developing healthy coping skills. Comparison is a distraction and a hindrance to your healing.  Avoid estimating or considering dissimilarities between yourself and others.

It is essential to also reduce your social media consumption when healing from low self-esteem. With the glamorization of obtaining the perfect picture to post, it is easy to get caught in the trap of comparison. A simple scroll will have you questioning your entire life’s goals and purpose. Studies show the more time you spend on social media apps, the more likely you are to compare yourself socially. As a result, this social comparison is linked to higher levels of anxiety and lower self-esteem. Do yourself a favor and put your phone down. Then, begin to build your confidence by spending quality time with GOD.

Spend Quality Time With GOD

GOD desires for you to walk in confidence through HIM. There is often a misconception that to be a follower of JESUS CHRIST you in some ways have low self-esteem. As if, surrendering your life to the Savior and choosing to take up your cross to follow HIM daily is a sign of weakness. However, in all actuality living your life in total surrender to GOD is one of the greatest signs of strength and confidence you can display. Having the freedom to be confident that your life is not in your own hands, but GOD’s. Since HE is ordering your steps according to HIS word, this is when your confidence will begin to grow. Increasing your confidence in GOD will require for you to spend quality time with HIM daily. Spending time with GOD includes reading and studying the scriptures of the Bible, meditating on the scriptures, praying, fasting, worshipping, and talking with GOD. This is the process of building a relationship with GOD. The more you discover the character of GOD, HIS ways, thoughts, and plans for your life, will inevitably increase your faith and confidence in HIM. GOD desires for you to walk in confidence through HIM. This begins by intentionally spending quality time with HIM daily.
