Why am I Anxious?
Identifying the reasons and how to overcome anxiety.
Anxiety is not a personality trait. It is a negative thought that interrupts your ability to make decisions or be productive. The fear of the unknown and all the possibilities of what could happen, leaves you in a continuous cycle of negative thoughts. You can overcome anxious feelings, thoughts, and emotions with GOD.
“Now the GOD of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the HOLY GHOST.” Romans 15:13 KJV
Reasons for Anxiety
Lack of trust in GOD, yourself, relationships or environment are the source of anxiety. The impact from trauma caused you to no longer have a sense of security or confidence. You question whether your decisions could have lead to another set of circumstances or better outcome. However, remaining in mindset of fear and worry, will not bring change. Take control over your anxiety by praying to GOD for HIS strength and guidance. You can trust GOD, because you have safe-keeping and guardianship in HIM.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” Isaiah 26:3
To overcome anxiety you are going to have to take a leap of faith. Gather all the anxious thoughts, feelings, and emotions into a mental backpack. As you place them in this backpack, tell yourself we’re going on a faith trip, where these feelings are just going to have to come with me. As you take each step of faith, open your backpack up and throw-out the fear, worry, doubt, stress, uncertainty and anxiety. You are going to be surprised with how much progress you will make when you learn to do things even when you may have feelings of anxiety.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
GOD desires for your mind to be at peace and not to be anxious for anything. The mental backpack you packed with all your thoughts, feelings, and emotions was you giving everything over to GOD. As you threw out each emotion with the steps of faith you took, GOD is lifting the burdens off of your back, and giving you the fruit of HOLY SPIRIT. Continue to walk by faith and rely on GOD for HIS strength to heal anxiety. Each step you take in faith, is making progress.
