Peaceful

Effective techniques to gain perspective in stressful situations and find peace in your life.

Do find yourself frustrated or overwhelmed? Have difficulty being focused, concentrating, or making decisions? You may be stressed. 

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” Isaiah 26:3

Peace is a fruit of HOLY SPIRIT.  You must seek GOD to obtain true inner-peace. Surrender your thoughts, feelings, and emotions of how think circumstances should go in stressful situations. Seek GOD’s direction through prayer, worship, and meditating on the scriptures in the Bible. Doing things GOD’s way will lighten the burden of stress, because you can trust GOD is in control, even when the obstacles of life arise. 

What is Peace?

Peace is freedom from disturbance, being in a state of tranquility. When you are healing from trauma, it may be difficult to define peace. Trauma is a brain injury that rewires your brain to dysfunction. This is the cause of individuals being trapped in the same dysfunctional cycles over and over again regardless of how much money you make, jobs or relationships you change. The true cause is your definition of peace is programmed to stay comfortable in chaos.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

Define your definition of peace based upon healthy coping skills. Find new ways to take care of yourself when you feel stress. Avoid activities that provide temporary relief, but are self harming. Use healthy coping skills which provide long-term positive and healthy solutions to stress.

10 Scriptures for Peace

“For with GOD nothing shall be impossible.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:37‬ ‭KJV‬

The healing process to overcome stress, can be complex. However, sustainable healing is possible with GOD. There is power in speaking and meditating on the scriptures of the Bible daily. Read, speak, and meditate on the 10 scriptures for peace. 

7-Ways to be Peaceful

Peace is a fruit of HOLY SPIRIT.  You must seek GOD to obtain true inner-peace. The following are ways to help you to be peaceful. 

1. Remove all distractions. Set your intentions on what you want to accomplish. Then remove anything and anyone who does not align with that plan. Make sure your vision is directed by the GOD and not your own desires alone. This may be the cause of your stress, because you are trying to do things that are not aligned with GOD’s ordained purpose. Oftentimes, GOD will not allow for you to continue on a path that does not accomplish HIS plan for your life. 

2. Re-evaluate the situation. Take a new perspective on the issue to identify the true stressors. Gain a different perspective by changing your mindset from feelings to the actual facts. You may feel stress, because you don’t have a solution. However, brainstorming new ideas, may alleviate the worry, fear, and uncertainty connected to stress. 

3. Change your focus on GOD. Take the weight of what has been stressing you and place it at the feet of JESUS, in prayer and worship. Pray and ask HOLY SPIRIT for the guidance in stressful situations. 

4. Allow GOD to do it HIS way. You will have to surrender your ideas, feelings and thoughts of how you think things should go. This requires faith and trust in GOD.

5. Take charge of the aspects you can control. Truth of the matter is something’s are just beyond  your control. The only thing you have the power to control or change is yourself. Focus on the things you can control and move forward . Take it one step at a time. Sometimes thinking about the process can be extremely overwhelming. The best thing to do in a stressful situation is to take it on second at a time. Tomorrow has not yet come and yesterday is gone. The only thing you can focus on is the present. Focus on what you will do in the next second, minute, then hour. Don’t overwhelm yourself with the details of the future until you are able to discern the present moment. 

6. Get some rest. Meditate on the 10- scriptures to be peaceful. Try to implement a bedtime routine to ensure you are resting without social media, phones, or televisions for 8 to 10 hours a night. Literally, go to sleep. Oftentimes, you go to bed but you are not actually resting due to social media scrolling or worrying about what the next day will bring. Shut off the noise of the world, pray, and go to sleep. 

7. Ask for help. You do not have to do it alone. Isolation and being alone with your own thoughts, when you are in stressful situations can be more detrimental, than good for you. You are not meant to be alone. Build a community around you with individuals who are able to support and uplift you. Being around like-minded people may not be beneficial in stressful situations. They may view life through a distorted mind frame, if they are not healed. Build your community up. Strive to be around people who have attained your desired level of success and are sustaining a healthy and healed life in GOD.
