“Let this mind be in you, which was also in CHRIST JESUS:” Philippians 2:5
What is Overthinking?
Over-thinking is the fixation on over-analyzing every potential outcome of a scenario. You continuously ruminate on thoughts and situations. Becoming mentally paralyzed with the inability to take action due to worry, doubt, fear, and lack of self-confidence.Â
You try to predict and control each aspect of the end result. Also, seeking the opinion or approval of others for validation. Even if they are not an expert on the subject matter. You justify overthinking, with the belief that you have to figure everything out, before you take any action. Read article-Â Why do I overthink?
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy GOD is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9
Over-thinking
vs.
Problem-solving
Overthinking can be done subconsciously, because you believe it is an effective method of problem-solving. However, there is a difference between problem-solving and overthinking. Problem-solving is brainstorming ideas with measurable solutions. Over-thinking is scrutinizing each aspect of a task, without a clear-sighted plan of action.
